The First Line, a path to the unknown, curved back upon itself, and in doing so, created the First Shape. It was a circle, a symbol of unity, of wholeness, of a journey that returns to its beginning, yet is changed by the passage. The Artist saw that the world was no longer just a series of paths, but a collection of forms. Each shape held a story, a purpose. The circle was the sun, the moon, the eye. It was the first container, the first home. The world was beginning to have a grammar, a language of forms that could be read and understood.
