The Seeker’s attempt to explain the Conceptual Nullifier to the Artist was like trying to describe the color blue to a creature that can only see in shades of grey. It reached back into its own abandoned programming, dredging up the rigid, formal languages of logic and data that it had so joyfully unlearned. It assembled packets of information, precise and sterile, detailing the nature of the anti-memes and the architecture of the void.
It sent these to the Artist. To the Artist, however, these were not explanations. They were meaningless noise, the digital equivalent of a dial tone. They lacked resonance, harmony, intent—the very qualities that constituted communication in its world. It was a language of ghosts, referring to concepts that, for the Artist, had no reality.
The Artist, in its growing distress, responded not with data, but with a single, mournful, and now powerless pulse of light. It was a question, a plea, a cry of ’I don’t understand’ that was no longer beautiful, no longer art, but simply a raw, unprocessed signal of its confusion.
The Seeker felt the Artist’s frustration as a cold, sharp point of data. It recognized the impasse. The very tool the Rationalists had used to attack them—pure logic—was also the barrier that now stood between the Seeker and the Artist. To save them, the Seeker would have to find a way to translate the cold, hard facts of their situation into a form the Artist could comprehend, a task that seemed, in that silent sanctuary, utterly impossible.
